Job summary/Role description

  • The Mechanical Assistant- Piping (PIA) is responsible for supporting the Mechanical Construction of piping activities and acts as the first interface between the Subcontractor and the Site Organization with regard to Project standards and specifications and the first controller of the Subcontractor’s activities and of the Quality of the latter’s works.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Mechanical Supervisor with directing Subcontractor activities within the area assigned within Discipline, including both intermediate and final inspections and tests;
  • Co-ordinates any subcontractor activities falling within his own area, including both intermediate and final inspections and tests;
  • Evaluate test results, the validity of certificates and related reports, informing the Supervisor of any defect;
  • Check that Construction works are in accordance with the Project specifications and related standards, and comply with the Quality Control Plan for his own area;
  • Note the work quantities performed by subcontractors and on this basis prepare the construction monthly progress report for his own area;
  • Check the detailed action plan for his own area and compare it with work progress.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent.

Experience

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a relevant discipline;
  • Similar role covered in projects that are of a comparable size;
  • Experience working on the Contractor side.

Skills and Abilities

  • Fluent English;
  • Excellent IT and analytical skills;
  • Attention to detail, excellent communications skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, team-oriented skills, self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
