Job summary/Role description

The position is open within Moscow Engineering Team

Duties and responsibilities

  • To carry out the activities of his/her competence in compliance with safety, budget, schedule, quality, the Contract terms, the Customer procedures, standards and work instructions, the international codes & standards, the applicable law and the good engineering practice
  • To coordinate the assigned discipline team by ensuring its adequacy with respect to the requirements of the Project
  • To assure the timely production of the documents/deliverables of competence
  • To interface with the Customer, the Licensors and Vendors for discipline related activities that have an impact on project budget and schedule
  • To interface with the specialists/engineers of the designated Russian Design Institute (R.D.I.), in the execution of the project activities of competence
  • To interact with the specialists/engineers of the other engineering disciplines for the plant layout & piping design topics of his/her competence
  • To check, review and comment, as applicable the specifications and/or drawings released by other engineering disciplines or by Vendors
  • To give assistance during the construction and the commissioning phases from home office and/or at Site and/or at fabrication shop, as per the project needs
  • To keep himself updated about layout & piping design issues, to promote improvements and capitalize project experience, in coordination with the other discipline specialists/engineers
  • To actively participate in Site surveys aimed at collecting all necessary discipline related information and data
  • To actively participate in all project safety reviews (Hazop, PSSR, etc.)
  • To develop plot plans and equipment layout studies
  • To develop piping routing studies by using 2D or 3D CAD software
  • To check and support the development of the project 3D model, and to set-up the internal and Customer model review sessions
  • To check and support the production of the isometric drawings
  • To prepare and/or to check the material take-off (MTO) for piping components, piping valves, special piping components and supporting material and to keep them updated during all phases of the project
  • To coordinate and to give assistance to the piping specialists involved (e.g. stress engineer, support engineer, piping class engineer, metallurgy and welding engineer, insulation and painting engineer etc.), and to ensure adequate flow of information within the project team
  • To ensure the preparation of the project general specifications, data sheets and material requisitions (MR) for inquiry for piping components, piping valves, special piping components and special supports
  • To carry out technical evaluation of the proposals received and to release the technical bid tabulations and the technical bid evaluations (TBE) of the received proposals for the special piping components and the special supports

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering disciplines

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in similar role preferably in multinational and complex business context of the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry
  • Proven experience in the management of revamping projects for the discipline of competence

Skills and Abilities

  • Fluent English and Russian
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once and be adaptive to changes
  • High flexibility and teamwork attitude
  • Proficient in use of IT engineering tools adopted by the Company for the design of piping systems
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards, with a deep focus on standard and laws applicable to the Russian Federation
  • Full availability to travel to construction Sites, to Vendor manufacturing workshops and to R.D.I./other engineering company offices, as necessary
  • Analytical and problem-solving approach
  • Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions and multiple tasks
