Job summary/Role description

The project concerns the EPC for the utilities, infrastructures and off-sites facilities of a greenfield plant for a new:
Gas Fractionation Unit (GFU)
Sulphur Recovery Unit (SRU).
Hydrotreater Unit (HDT)
Hydrogen Unit (HPU/ROG PSA)
Located in LUKOIL Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez refinery in Kstovo, Russia.

Commissioning Supervisor, COS, executes the commissioning activities of an entire unit of the Plant. Operates in compliance with the quality requirements, health/environmental/safety regulations and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To develop the detailed commissioning procedures;
  • To check the activities and prepare relevant Commissioning punch list;
  • To assure that all activities such as flushing/blowing, reinstatement of piping components and local instruments, leak test, motor run-in, machinery run-in, static equipment inspections, cleaning, internals installations, box-up are duly performed in accordance with the stated procedures, in conformity with the safety rules and as per the instructions of Commissioning Manager or Commissioning Superintendent;
  • To organize and manage the Sub-Contractor works following the working and safety procedures;
  • To support the Vendor specialists in the execution of the job and coordinate their actions with the Commissioning supervisors;
  • To supervise the works of vendors’ specialists and ensure their efficient utilization;
  • To keep records of all activities in the logbook;
  • To produce the certificates, duly signed by the involved parties, and handover to certification engineer (QA/QC).

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • University Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent;


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas /industrial sector/ EPC projects;
  • At least 3 years of experience in the specific discipline;
  • Similar role covered in last three projects, of comparable size;
  • Experience working on Contractor side.

  • Native Russian speaker;
  • Fluent English;
  • Excellent IT and analytical skills;
  • Attention to detail, excellent communications skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, team-oriented skills, self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
